Chicken or the Egg (Kraftwerk or Coldplay)

The very first time I hear a full Coldplay album was about 2003 or 2004 at my sister's house while we're having dinner and I was impressed, yes they hit me and hit me hard with the A Rush Blood To The Head.

A few years later I was in love with several of their songs including Talk. The time pass and I listen to the German band Kraftwerk and Computer Love and take me a time to realize that They were taking advantage of the Coldplay song Talk (2005) and think "they are using a successful song to sale their music" DEAD WRONG!!!

What a surprise Krafwek it's a real old band in spite of their years their sound it's pretty actual, Computer Love was released in 1981 Chirs Martin was 4 years old.

So I learn my lesson, first check and then "TALK"

In the credits of "Talk" appear the members of Kraftwerk since they gave the permission to Coldplay to use part of "Computer love".

Distinct is the case of Joe Satriani who claimed Coldplay for plagiarism of his song "If I could fly" (2004) in "Viva la Vida" (2008).

Another similar case is the song "The Air that I breathe" by The Hollies (1973) and "Creep" by Radiohead (1993).  Albert Hammond and Mike Hazlewood from The Hollies are in the credits of Creep.

In this last case I can't find the similarities as clear as the other two, I know both songs and I play twice each and can't find it...

Another very similar case is the song "Head Over Heels (In This Life)" by Switchfoot (2006) and "Dan Kamu" by D'Masiv (2009). The latter is an Indonesian band which clearly plagiarize Switchfoot's song.

One more: Cameroon Manu Dibango released his song Soul Makossa in 1972. A chanted vocal part of the song was used in Wanna be startin' somethin' by Michael Jackson (Thriller) in 1982. Later it was used in Don't Stop the music by Rihanna (Good Girl Gone Bad) in 2007.

This time is about an argentine artist: Gustavo Cerati. His album Bocanada (1999) was a great sucessfull in Argentina and Latin America (both critics and public). Many songs of this album contain samples. One of them contains a sample of Waltz for Lumumba by The Spencer Davis Gruop (1967). The song called Tabu (1999).
