What do you guys think are components to construct a solid "Summer Hit"?
No links to songs or playlists, please... let's just talk about this! :-)
I've thought quite a bit about this... Here's what I'm thinking:
Key: Major Key (F#/Gb, G, or A)
Genre: Synthy Pop (bummer... out of MY genre)
Form: | A | A | B | A | B | C | B | B |
Vibe: The B sections (chorus) have got to be catchy as all get out; A sections are very basic syncopation w/ a jump brass-y style synth. No more than 2 or 3 notes happening at a time.
Specs: The "Millenial Whoop" is almost a must; it's also been very popular the past couple of years to include actual -or faux- short Spanish phrases into the piece; Also, I think bridges go VERY well w/ summer jams ( | C | in the form) -building to a climax and then returning to a completely dropped out round of the chorus, only to repeat the chorus again w/ FULL force!
Release date: no later than May 1st.
That's what I'm picturing, friends... Now, what do YOU guys think? Use this template to join the conversation...
