I follow artists to keep up with new releases, and individual users with dope taste.

It's awesome that "Activity" is finally on mobile, but Spotify needs to better encourage social activity. I think a "badge" system would seriously incentivise following, sharing and seeking out other people's playlists (I've got thousands of followers yet still feel anonymous :/humblebrag)

     I follow people on Spotify to support their creations. After all, they can’t continue their channel if it is not listened to. And I feel that something that affects my life so much, and persuades my feelings and mental state deserves to be acknowledged with respect. It also shows I really like that artist, like, “hey, listen for this, I really like it.”

Obviously, enjoy following artists. But when I find someone I think is inciteful or interesting, or maybe we just share musical interests... i follow.
