Lana Del Rey v Radiohead court case

Happy New Year everyone! Not posted on here for a while but thought it would be interesting to get everyone's take on the lawsuit Radiohead are taking out against Lana Del Rey for the track 'Get Free' sounding like 'Creep'. For me the similarities are all too clear and she will definitely lose. Whats your take on it?

I think Radiohead will win the lawsuit the tracks are just to similiar. But I read somewhere that she is willing to share 40% of the royalties with Radiohead. ^^

Peace

This is so crazy... it's sad to see an artist just copy an idea that's already been fought for and done originally. It makes me feel like it's just discrediting the artist, especially since many people won't even notice or care. The vocals are too similar, and Creep has very distinct melody; it's blatantly copied. Things like this make me sad that some artists work hard to get their original work known and stay obscure while more well known artists get away with things like this.

I think Radiohead will win the lawsuit since Lana's track is too similar IMO. I'm surprised to notice a lot of similarities in her song.

I don't know how this will end, but it's curious that following the release of Creep back in the 90s, Radiohead were allegedly sued over the single’s similarities to the Hollies’ 1974 song “The Air That I Breathe”.

Yeah I read that too, but Radiohead wouldn't accept any less than 100%. I was skeptical at first, then I listened to Lana's song. Its pretty obvious...pay the gentlemen.

Went to listen to this song as well (on YT due to reasons), well the chorus seems to be original, everything else sounds similar to Creep. Sort of soft pop balladish song following Creep's melody. I guess she will lose this case. :')

Definitely interested in where this case goes to!

So I go to listen to this very small song:

@Gidyin It will be fascinating to see the outcome, although it has been denied that legal action is afoot :O
