I've been wanting to start a thread for introducing tunes that I discover and find awesome in all different ways I love. My love for music is bubbling and I need an outlet! :'D
So, ideally I'd get back to this thread (I am not making new threads every time) with new findings once or maybe twice a week.
I hope the artists and tunes find new listeners too. :)
You may suggest me music to hear, but I set a couple of rules first to keep things clean:
1. Please no playlists!
2. You may post your own music, but don't post the same thing in several threads in a row. I will remove it otherwise.
3. A recommendation - introduce the sounds you want me to hear. A plain play button won't attract anyone.
Now, to content:
Ever since I discovered Monuman through this tune
which is a fantastic tune with an awesome buildup (I love the male vocal in it!) I've been keeping my eye on him. So I found he has made a small album last year called The Polychoral.
I adore the atmosphere which is both dark and beautiful, the rhythms and melodies keep me hooked. Tracks differ from one another as well - Ur and Polychoral are more spacious while Spectre might get you dancing.
I also seem to have a strong liking for Aethek. 1991 VG is a short album, but all three songs are 7 minutes.
All three songs are different as well: Traveling Stone is more monolithic, Prefecture is floating mid-space and XOMOX is completely deconstructed alien structure.
I love Prefecture. XOMOX is interesting in it (Renraku signature sound), but it's really strange even for me. :'D
A third release that I really love is by Ultraviolet.
Castelo is such a great rhythmic and dancy tune, while its Starkey remix is more disjointed with a changing atmosphere, introducing an even more flooding bass.
Amon played the Starkey version, I'm pretty sure it's because of that darn bass, it feels sweet!
Conclusively, both are bassy; original gets me dance, remix is weird cool + bass.
I really don't want to make my title post long, so I'll end it here. :)
To new music!
