Music You Didn't Like at First, But Grew on You

Ever listen to an artist or album, and think "not for me," then go back weeks or years later, and think "Wow, what was I thinking, this is AWESOME!"

Moods are so pervasive and can ulitmately affect what you like at any given moment. Maybe you just weren't in the right mood when you initially played the album. Or when years have gone between listening, maybe you have matured and learned to appreciate something in a brand new way.

My first example is Deerhunter. Didn't like them at first, but they have been showing up on my Discover Weekly, and I decided to give them a chance. Now I think they are great.

Post something you changed your mind about!

Didn't like this song when it was released 11 years ago. It's totally a different story now.

Hamilton, easily.  At first I avoided it like the plague since it was a popular musical and at that point I heavily disliked musicals.  Now I do theatre and I belt Ham in the car.  It's horrific how much my opinion changed.

Love this idea!! I'll post mine soon.. let me think a minute!!

At First Modern Baseball and the Front Bottoms were really dull for me and didn't even sound good. But considering I'm in the midwest and that's what I've grown up on with the punk vibe, I really got into it and now they are literally my favorite band. :')

@Cloudynick so true! same situation for me, seeing them live was crazy good though!

Oh man... I fell in love with this instantly but glad you came around!!!! Haha

At first these happend to me with  'Tremenda Jauría'. But few listening after i appreciate the project. Listen them beacause sound like the future new tendencies.

Its funny because when I was growing up in the 90's, all I really listened to was hip hop and all that, I never cared for Green Day, Blink 182, THe Goo Goo Dolls etc, but now I cant get enough. Like this song... SO GOOD aaahhhh

I wasn't into this song but I keep hearing this in public places so it kinda grows on me.

I don't know why I decided to give this song a chance, but I'm certainly glad that I did.

I didn't like it at first because I was really young back then and didn't know what it's about. Well I know what's it about now and this is such a good song LOL.

I used to not like this song (I'm not generally fond of hip hop songs) but my boyfriend (then, at the time) keeps playing it and it eventually grew on me. Liked the chorus by Eric Nally, the catchy melody and even memorized the rap parts.
