Hey everyone!! I'm a singer songwriter and I put out an EP recently! Check it out if you're interested and let me know what you think! I would love to hear your opinions!! I have some more music coming in the future as well!!
I only know about half the artists on the Overcoats "girl power" playlist, @heartscore — that's one of the things I love about it. (I also love that it's varied enough to include Skeeter Davis, who had her biggest hits in the early '60s, and Lake Street Dive, whose lead singer is the daughter of a friend of mine!)
And nice find on the Chaka Khan playlist, @tamtitam! I can't wait to give that a listen. How did you come across that?
Don Bryant's one of those great soul talents in Memphis who got overshadowed by the legends like Al Green, Isaac Hayes and Bryant's wife — the great Ann Peebles. In fact, Bryant wrote Peebles' signature hit, "I Can't Stand the Rain," with her. Bryant just released Don't Give Up On Love, his first album in decades, and the 75-year-old singer shared his favorite recent R&B listening with USA Today, and his playlist makes the musical connections between Vulfpeck and Janelle Monae, between Anderson .Paak and Leon Bridges. Even if you've never heard of Don, a playlist like that is just good listening.
