I really love post rock, but I don't know many bands and I would like to discover some. Share with me some of the best post rock bands that aren't necessarily the most popular

Godspeed You! Black Emperor is kinda the king, though you could throw Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, and This Will Destroy you in the mix and kinda make a Big 4, a la Slayer/Megadeth/Metallica/Anthrax.

As far as lesser known goes, Hammock just put out a new song that's that really good.  You could literally just set it to radio and discover alot of newer, lesser known acts that way.

I'll toot my own horn, too, as my latest EP is primarily influenced by post-rock, guitar driven stuff.

It's funny, I like EITS and Godspeed You! but I haven't heard Mogwai or This will Destroy you. And I like Metallica and Megadeth but I haven't heard Anthrax or Slayer, I guess I now know what to hear next. Thanks...

I have a new EP you might enjoy! Very heavily influenced by some of the post rock greats like EITS and TWDY
