Hey guys,
New to the forum; saw this posted on another forum I frequent and thought it was a great idea.
The premise is this:
I will post a song and the person will reply with a rating (1-10) of their subjective opinion of the song with a short write up of how they liked/disliked it. They will then post a song for the user that posts next to review.
Please limit this to songs we can all access on Spotify. You can right-click on the song in Spotify on the computer and click the "Copy Spotify URI"
Thanks!
- Mackey
My song:
Indeed a great idea!
Well after your introduction i expected something really strange 😄
Simply a classic - I give 9 out of10 ^^
So here is my suggestion:

Love your pick @Electrocker2000, I don’t speak French and don’t know what the song goes but the music speaks volumes, so melancholic, kind of sad, and I suppose is an harmonic…sound wonderful… 9/10.
It's monday and I want something more....

The same for me too. It's greyed out.
Man what can I say about Stairway To Heaven...
GREATEST GUITAR SOLO EVER! 10/10 no doubt!
@xavierpenullar It's a good rock music but the vocal could use an improvement. 7 / 10

@rossi1911 and Of Monsters And Men - Dirty Paws
Well, when I saw the song name, the first thing that came to mind was Amon Tobin's Kitty Cat. 😄
Fall upon the ground with your dirty paws...
Back to your song: I like that song. Nice rhythm, good lyrics, keeps it interesting for me. Will give an 8.
The following song is.. well. It makes me happy. 😉
(found it in Amon's set)

On "Singalong":
A very nice build-up where it leads to feeling of shouting out loud at the end. 8.5/10
And so this follows:

@user-removed An essential classic and a floor filler to this day 9/10
spotify:track:029Nkd8hFWB5mQvo7o3H1N
@crematedman I really love nice and slow acoustic like that so it's a solid 10 / 10 from myself.

At @rossi1911 and Meg Mac's 'Never Be'.
Nice transitions, enjoyable singing voice!
Although I usually don't end up listening to music like that, it's always refreshing to hear such sounds. : )
Will give a 6.
I went on some youtubing spree last night and ended up on a pianist playing snippets of '10 melodies you have heard, but don't know the name for'. One of them was Debussy's 'Clair de Lune'. I instantly recognised one bit of melody from it from an Amon Tobin song. So I went to whosampled.com to see in what song Amon sampled this track.
Turned out it was Isao Tomita's song. Amon sampled it in "Back From Space".
So here it is, Isao Tomita's song "Clair de Lune" which is basically this piano masterpiece through the prism of a pioneer of electronic music.

A yt commenter: "Dream in amniotic fluid."
@Sebasty on Suite Bergamasque: Clair de Lune, No. 3:
It's a well-synthesized piece, however, there're some parts the pitch could get too high and it would only be suitable to be played at certain times; maybe at the end of a dreamy-like film. 6.75/10
Well, this piece leads to the feeling of listening to some "electronic-bell-like" song and here it is:

Stairway To Heaven - Led Zeppelin
I know that song and I love it, 9/10.

This song may come off as boring during the first listen, but if you look through that and get the message it's a wonderful song. (At least for me)
I'm from the oldscool so i would rate this an 8.
Her voice is beautiful .
The intro on that one was too long IMO, and the drop was really unsatisfying. The melody and directiong of the song we great, as was the idea, but the execution thereof was lacking in some areas. 6/10

hi @xayne
the production & track is quite good, very dancy & clubby,
maybe a bit too clean for my taste
so i give it a subjective 6/10
some catchy female vocals could make it an 8
this is what i propose to be rated:
spotify:track:0oYRg3rkTDWpyHe0s4SyNl
from one of my favorite bands from the 90ies - ONE INCH PUNCH
quite dirty production ..
In response to @soundson and The Bu by One Inch Punch.
I quite enjoy the dirty production here! Brings some Blur tracks to mind where an extraordinary amount of distortion got in use (like Bugman)... 😉
However not something I'd listen to at all times, but suits when I feel appropriately dirty.
edot: forgot the numerical rate - I gove it a 7 - good, but not for everyday listen. 🙂
I present you, the next poster, a song I've been pretty much obsessed with for the past 3 days. :') It doesn't happen very often when I play a song more than 20 times in such short period of time!

@Sebasty Darkside are incredible, this is another one that builds and builds and so sensual 8/10
