Spotify for Worship Leaders

I'm guessing there aren't a ton of worship leaders on this board but it's worth a shot. Anyone use Spotify to plan their worship services at church? I create a master playlist to keep track of all the songs that we currently rotate and then create a "set list" for each week so I can listen to the songs over and over again. I'm also a big time user of Planning Center Online to build the worship services, schedule people, etc. - which has Spotify integrated within the system.

Peace,

Erik

HI Erik!

Came across your message. I happen to also be a worship leader! Greetings to you in Jesus' name! I attend Crossroads International Church in Amsterdam. www.xrds.nl

And we use PCO too! The question I have is whether it's legal to use Spotify in church. Do you know about this?

God bless, jonny b 🙂

Hey there @Teaman9000! 🙂 Unfortunately, Spotify is not allowed to be used in public scenarios / for commercial-use.

"The Spotify Service and the content provided through it are the property of Spotify or Spotify's licensors, and we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to make personal, non-commercial (except as permitted under Section 11) use of the Spotify Service and to receive the media content made available through the Spotify Service in your Local Country, based on the Subscription or Trial, you have selected (the “Licence”)..." - Spotify Terms and Conditions of Use

Hey. I just came across this too. I've definitely made a playlist with the songs I'm thinking of doing. It can help with flow as well.

I just made a playlist for my own personal prayer, soaking time. Feel free to check it out.

Thanks for the great ideas! I'm not a leader but I can pass this on to our music coordinators! God bless you in your ministry brother!

Here are a few Christian playlists that I listen to daily -

First is some indie alternative chill pop type music-

Thanks for your post, Erik! I'm a worship leader near Portland, OR; we use Spotify for pre-service music, but typically I'll use YouTube links for the team to rehearse with. I can usually find better examples of live recordings, etc to attach to songs in Planning Center vs Spotify, which only contains official releases with paid distribution (plus, not everyone on the team has a Spotify account, but YouTube can be accessed by anyone).
