The Best in an Album....For Last?

Has happened  this situation with one of your favorite albums?

Maybe is just me, or maybe I lost my mind... but it would seem sometimes like the best song comes to the end or if isn’t the best has something that gives the album a perfect way out...or is just the way I see it (totally subjective of course) because it’s impossible to agree in case like this…

Although this is the case I would like to know which last songs for an album are the best for you, and if you want to share why even better (sometimes a song means so much for us because a specific situation and the same song could means nothing or not much for the rest of us).

I’m going to let you with this examples and if you disagree….

Once upon a time...

I mean when vinyls albums were, most of times, out before any single, it used to be, generally, the track #3 of the album becoming the first single out. But this was a time even before CDs exist.

This fact seems to be, again, in use as we often find the lead single (not specially the best track) in third position when the album comes out after one or several singles.

But, as @Jpgchief said, it seems to be now the new tendency to find the best track of an album in last position. I think it has to be with the length of the song ; a single has always a radio time/format but this fact, in my opinion, doesn't mean that the single(s) out first, are always the best songs.

So, sometimes, songs not formated for radio are the best songs and take place in last position.

Personally, that's the way I see the things and that's why I still think that albums are always very important. :)

I know all I seem to post is is about David Cook. And this is exactly another instance. David Cook even admitted in an interview that he likes to work on an album as a whole instead of singles. He likes his albums to tell a story. In this album, This Loud Morning, he did just that. This song intimidated me and this was the last song I listened to in this album due to it's length.. But, it is such a good ending to the album. It combines every song it seems, into one. It has the ending of the beginning of Circadian, the first song of the album. It also hints in the lyrical context, similar lyrics to other songs in the album.. It is an amazing way to wrap an album

(this is what you meant right, post a song that makes a good ending to it's album?)

@Jpgchief Sorry I don't quite understand that. Did you mean that the last song in an album is usually the best song?

Not necessarily @rossi1911 but recently in some album this is just the case, or simply the album has a great song that give a perfect ending to their work, do you have notice something like this in the albums that you know very well?

Thanks @tamtitam you’re absolutely right, I’m a big fan of Pink Floy and I don’t know how I miss this one (I already add to the Playlist), that’s the reason of the post to find out what others albums I’m missing in the Playlist….
