Using Music to Match a Mood

Am I the only one who uses music to help compliment the mood of given situation? I personally spend a lot of time traveling, and use my spotify playlists to enhance the experience.

PLEASE share your personal mood-setting playlists with a brief explanation of their intended use case.

Here are a couple of my own:

Midnight Uber is a playlist designed for late-night rides back home from the airport, party, etc. Take a look out the window at the city lights, and enjoy the mellow harmonies.

Runway was inspired to fit the visual experience of an inner-city fashion show. The urban tracks on this list will set the mood for any modern event.

Same as you I spend a lot of time in my car. I created a playlist for night time driving as well, I usually listen to it when we are going to or leaving the city of Toronto since I live in an outside borough. It's fairly large so when they get that big I think it's fun to just hit shuffle and see what you get. (ignore track one. that track is no longer avaible but still shows on the list for some reason)

I also really like making playlists for parties. This was my playlist for last halloween. I tried to tell a story through the songs. It may be a bit abstract but it's a story of some teenagers partying and then **bleep** hits the fan. My friends really enjoyed it and we had a great time dancing.

Great idea for a post btw, I like that you're asking people to think critically about their choices.

Hey, I appreciate the kind words. I've really enjoyed your playlists. I actually followed Night Driving and listened to it on my way home from work tonight (rush hour sucked, so I actually got through a lot of the playlist haha).

Toronto is a beautiful city btw. I used to live in Ottawa though, so go Sens! Well anyway, thanks for the response. ~Peace

I'm looking forward to listening to your Midnight Uber list. I built my late-night driving list for a more rural setting — long stretches of two-lane roads between towns with no buildings, no street lights, and almost no other cars. A little haunted but enough of a beat to keep you just on the alert side of highway hypnosis.

That feeling of getting home from Work, and you start cooking.
