What are your favourite concept albums??

I've been listening to this artist The Dear Hunter for a long time now.
His "Act" series, a list of concept albums that all follow the same storyline, has just completely blown my mind.

It left me wanting for more, so I decided turn to the Spotify community to share more of their favourite concept albums with me!

Will have to check that out sometime! I love the idea of concept albums when well executed, and my all time favorite has to be this Pink Floyd classic.

Ahh yes the concept albums, allot of great classic rock albums are centered around a storyline and some connecting concepts. Another great of Floyd's is well of course Animals and also Dark Side of the Moon:

Also The Who's Quadrophenia as well as the concept storyline album Tommy:

The Wall must be the mother of all concept album, definitely one of my favourites too 🙂 Too be honest I've never really listened to these other concept albums by Pink Floyd, I'll definitely give them all a try!

Delìrium Còrdia by Fantômas

Marillion have had a lot of concept albums which I love...including Misplaced Childhood, side one is the original album as it was intended...side two is bonus tracks from a re-issue.

I'm a huge fan of Script for a Jester's Tear!

This is the one I would keep if I had to choose: "S.F. Sorrow". The Pretty Things at their most lysergic.

This is not just one of my favourite albums of all time, but a gorgeous concept album, driven my many beautiful feelings and sounds. I believe this is going to be part of the ''classic'' concept albums.

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway from Genesis. Unfortunately it seems like its not available on any streaming platform

Deloused In the Crematorium by The Mars Volta is good, even if the concept is a bit off kilter.

For me the mother of all concept albums is:

Alan Parsons Project: Tales of mystery and imagination,

which deals with the storys and poems of Edgar Allan Poe
