micro-labels: Strategies for promoting a release

Roadie

You are also an artist on Spotify

As most of you, I have an own micro label and release my music as indie.

Which strategies do you use to promote your releases?

My first answers (so it is easy to understand what I mean):

* head for Pause and Play and send the information of your release

* make a Facebook page about your album (there is one category "album" in case you didn't notice)

* make a Facebook event as "release party", even if it is only a digital streaming/download album

* head for hypemachine, search where similar artists have been reviewd, and submit your thing (this step alone is a life-long activity)

* Your ideas

Please do NOT post here a concrete release announcement. For that, there is another post. Here I would like to discuss about general strategies (or small tips). Thanks

Juan María

What you're suggesting is good. Additionally I would try to make spotify playlists with artists and songs similar to yours, of course also include at least one of your songs and also lesser known bands. Then try to get followers and listeners for this playlist.
I think the way via playlists is the best to promote on streaming services, but it is pretty tough...
cheers, Peter

PS: what's your label/artists? maybe I can take some on my playlists.
