This year I was limited to attending concerts in the rural town where I go to grad school; I saw:

  • Yonder Mountain String Band
  • Lotus Land (Rush tribute band)
  • Pat Metheny
  • Twiddle
  • Sam Bush with the Travelin’ McCourys

What a line-up @MattSuda, and great collage, too! I'd love to see at least half of those artists live, especially Chelsea Cutler and Khalid ❤️

I had my fair share of concerts this year, and I got to travel to some cool places too:

  • Tom Odell + Tom Speight (Sofia, Bulgaria - my hometown)
  • David Gray (Cambridge, UK - my alma mater)
  • Ed Sheeran + James Bay (Bucharest, Romania)
  • The Paper Kites (Stockholm, Sweden)

I will add to that the Coldplay livestream on YouTube from Amman, Jordan at sunrise and sunset - it was a really cool idea and I'm glad I got to be a (virtual) part of it.

@AdamDam - it's great that you made the most of what you have. Which town is that? Do you plan on traveling further afield to see anyone in particular next year?

Thanks Peter! Hopefully you get the chance to see some of them!

I usually don't do much traveling for shows but that's really cool.

I also updated my post with location and more openers.

Hi @MattSuda,

I always like these type of question which makes you reflect on your recent experiences.

I've seen quiet a few this year but these are my top 3:

1. Massego

2. Freddie Gibbs

3. Papooz

Gotta say, i'm also visiting Primavera 2020 which is very exciting for me as i went on 2017 and now going for the 20th anniversary of the festival 🙂

HI Peter, I live in State College, Pennsylvania (USA), so that is where I went to concerts this year. And yes, depending on how busy I am at the time, I might see the band OM in Pittsburgh or Philadelphia on their tour next year, in March.

@AdamDam - nice one man, thanks for sharing 🙂

@MattSuda - traveling for concerts is one of my all-time fave things to do, and luckily it's reasonably cheap (thought not always) to fly to another city in Europe... if you live in Europe 😛

@OneByBoo - the line-up at Primavera Sound 2020 looks sweet - lucky you! I was actually looking into going, even if only for just one of the days - will keep you posted on that.

Hi @Peter,

You spooked me out for a minute.

Still waiting for the line up to be released and i though i missed it LOL.

They have confirmed 24 artists by now and the full line up should be released by Jan 8th.

I've been to many festivals around the world and this one was by far the best one.

So if you're considering - don't ! you'll enjoy it and it'll be nice to see you there 🙂

Haha, my bad @OneByBoo - I got confused, I meant Mad Cool Festival in Madrid lol

Still, I was also looking at Primavera, but I was totally sold on Alec Benjamin/Billie Eilish/HAIM/Khalid/Sigrid/Taylor Swift (and many others besides) being at Mad Cool.

In any case, I've had the fortune to go to a bunch of concerts, but I haven't been to a proper festival yet, so that's definitely one thing I would like to tick off in the next couple of years 🙂
