Hi All,
Sound effects, especially soundtracks, have always had the greatest impact in my movie experience. Additionally, movie soundtracks work well for board games or fantasy/sci-fi books, but it can also help me concentrate in school/work related stuff. Better than techno? WELL NO, but close! 😉
Here are my favourite movie soundtracks (albums), just to name few:
Ramin Djawadi – Game of Thrones
Howard Shore – Lord of The Rings
Ennio Morricone – The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
Steve Jablonsky – Ender’s Game
Klaus Badelt – Pirates of The Caribbean
Here you can find my collection of the most epic classics: Board games - World of Fantasy
… but most importantly, please share yours! What music would you recommend to help others to concentrate or just some background music for gaming/reading? Any soundtrack or movie recommendations that hold amazing tunes?
Currently Hanz Zimmer has to be one of the top Orchestral sound tracks recorded for movies of the last decade, Interstellar was a fantastic sound track. Another great one was Inception, sadly this version of the OST is missing two tracks not available currently, at least from my listening location that is:
I also was moved by a few older sound tracks from the past.
Devil's Advocate: Music From The Motion Picture, sadly I am not able to find a version available on the Spotify service currently from my listening region.
Fight Club was another solid movie sound track as well.
The same can be said for the Original Movie Soundtrack, Interview with The Vampire. Such a fantastic moving sound track that was, not currently available on the Spotify service. Shame movie / TV series sound tracks are the quickest content to leave or not be made available on the Spotify service.
The very first Omen film soundtrack was rather powerful as well by Jerry Goldsmith and Lionel Newman:

I like obscure movie soundtracks from the 60s and 70s. This one is for thrillers and suspense movies:
Here's my playlist. I'm glad to run into fellow fans of the genre! I've been collecting soundtracks on CD for over 30 years.
