Best Overall Songs of 2018 (Share Yours)

Hello and welcome to 2018!

2017 was a year for mellower music and political statements, but what will 2018 look like?

Already we've had albums from Car Seat Headrest, MGMT, tUnE-yArDs, Son Lux, Nils Frahm and Ty Segall to sink our teeth into, but we're only two months in!

Share your favourite songs this year and why you love them - I'll kick us off:

I'm listening a lot to Pandora Drive's first EP Albino Heart. This band features Swedish/norwegian electro queen Karin Park and two British DJs. I saw their first gig in an abandonned church in the deep forests of Sweden on Midsummer's Eve 2017, and I was blown away by this gem of dark electropop/house music. Only an EP from 2018 with four songs so far, but an album should be released in 2018.

They're all good, I like the overall feeling, but the songs all have their particular character. Albino Heart is a gospel-tinged and melancholic song about the difficulty of committing to a relationship. Let It Go is a mellow house song that vibrates with the pulse of the city. Blind Love is a bittersweet house song about taking a leap of faith that starts out very low key but intensifies as the song progresses. Last Moment is a grand electro ballad about letting kids hold on to their innocence as long as they can, basically another song about being a parent. ("You don't have to do the things I do, you don't need to learn the broken truth, hold on to your innocence till the last moment (...) Take it from me, it's a cruel world but it's better to live than to not live at all.")

I like the harmonies created by the female and male lead singers very much, I think they complement each other very nicely.

The original was released in 2017 but this remix is 2018 release. I'd like to add it to Best of 2018 🙂

A deja voodoo maybe? 😉

@daha6439 i love the thorough description, that gig must have been absolutely incredible in the forests!

I enjoyed all of the tracks but Let It Go was my favourite closely followed by Blind Love ^_^ I'm sure the artist has a bright future

@rossi1911 i adore the original, and i adore this mix too!

So far, I have three fav songs made in 2018 so far

Get Out ~ CHVRCHES (I like everything they make, theyre one of my favorite indie bands)

In the Dark ~ Camila Cabello (I didn't think I would like any of solo music, but this is a jam!)

The Middle ~ Zedd ft. Maren Morris (cuz I'm somewhat basic and love anything Zedd, and get down to this song everytime it comes on the radio lol)
