I'm putting a lot of time into my playlists and the list is designed as a listen from-start-to-finish (but shuffle works as well ofc).

Indie music; always evolving, searching beyond the mainstream wall, exploring the deep spectrum of creativity, emotion and intelligence. 100 cuts of indie rock, folk, electronica, lo-fi, dreampop, noise rock, and all kinds of genre-bending wonders. These are the top 100 indie songs of 2014, and the list will be perfected until the year has ended.

In July 2014 it was announced that Meursault will be officially disbanding. Neil Pennycook will continue to release music under his own name and under his new band name, Supermoon, featuring several longtime collaborators.

Here it is in October 2014 with an album called "Supermoon" very nice

Philip Selway - Coming Up For Air ( Weatherhouse ( 2014 )

Weatherhouse is the second solo album by British musician Phil Selway released on October 7, 2014.( Philip selway is the drummer of the British band Radiohead ) It features musicians from Phil Selway's backing band. On July 31, 2014, a music video was released for the first single off of the album, "Coming Up for Air". On September 22, 2014, a music video was released for another song on the album, "It Will End In Tears".

Well the year has come to an end, and my list is done (at least I think so). Soon we'll enter 2015 and the search for great new indie music will continue. But here it is! My Top 100 Indie Songs 2014!

Nice! I'm enjoying going through the list! I'm glad that Alvvays cut was a last minute addition! My 2 cents:

The one-per-artist rule means these didn't make the cut, but these are awesome, too

These were some other pretty strong contenders

The one album that I think got criminally ignored this year was Quilt - Held in Splendor. I thought it would show up on at least a few best of the year lists. Some of my favorite cuts from that album were:

Yeah there's been a lot of really tough choices. EMA, Mac Demarco, First Aid Kit and Quilt were all on and off the list, some returned and fell off again. I think in the end the choices really go with how close to the heart the songs manage to dig themselves.

Anyway, even if it's been tough making these choices - it's also been an enjoyment listening to all these great songs through the year.

Another song I enjoyed in 2014 was "Duvan" by Swedish group Amason.

I'm looking forward to the release of their first full-length album "Sky City" to be released in early 2015. Their previous track "Went to War" will be included on the album. It was one my top favorite tracks of 2013.

Was a great thread! And a great year. It pained me to leave out so many fine songs from my list, but these are the 50 tunes that gave me most enjoyment in 2014:
