Best indie songs of 2014

  - Help me discover and gather the best indie songs of 2014, until the year has ended!

Below you'll find my playlist: Top 100 Indie Songs 2014

If you find or know of a song that you feel should be on this list, please share it with me here.

- Maybe you have discovered a song that you feel noone else've done?

- Or maybe you feel that one of the songs I've chosen, that another song on that artists album is so much better?

- Or maybe there's a song that you think I may have overlooked? Share! 🙂

I'm putting a lot of time into my playlists and the list is designed as a listen from-start-to-finish (but shuffle works as well ofc).

Indie music; always evolving, searching beyond the mainstream wall, exploring the deep spectrum of creativity, emotion and intelligence. 100 cuts of indie rock, folk, electronica, lo-fi, dreampop, noise rock, and all kinds of genre-bending wonders. These are the top 100 indie songs of 2014, and the list will be perfected until the year has ended.

Enjoy!

hello!

Solander is a Swedish pop/folk/indie band on the search for higher grounds and deeper forests to explore. We like making simple pop songs but always twist them around one way or another. The songs we write may often sound a bit sad, but for some reason playing sad songs makes us happy. ( Bandcamp.com )

Combed through over 2,000 songs on random Spotify playlists to find these. All of these are from 2014.

Hello !

Invisible String is a collection of live recordings made by Gareth Dickson on his solo odyssey around Europe in 2012. From the banks of the Bosphorus in Istanbul, to a rooftop in Paris overlooking the Sacre Couer, by way of a slightly less glamorous stairwell in Caen, this relentless travelling and performing allowed Gareth to hone his art to its summit, and resulted in a bewitching batch of live performances. Brought to you here, to move your soul in the comfort of your own little kingdom ( soundcloud.com )

The Apache Relay are an indie folk band from Nashville with a pastoral, roots-pop sound. The band formed in 2008 while attending Nashville's Belmont University, with singer/guitarist Michael Ford, Jr. eventually joining the existing core group of Mike Harris (guitar), Brett Moore (mandolin, organ), and Kellen Wenrich (fiddle). Working with Avett Brothers producer Doug Williams, the quartet released their debut in 2009, a concept album called 1988 under the name Michael Ford, Jr. & the Apache Relay. For their follow-up, 2011's American Nomad, Ford's name was dropped from the moniker and they simply became The Apache Relay. Building on the attention they'd gotten from 1988, American Nomad raised their profile even more, garnering praise from Paste Magazine and eventually landing the group several prime opening slots for nu-folk stars Mumford & Sons and gigs at popular festivals like Bonnaroo in 2012. Around this time, frontman Michael Ford's younger brother Ben Ford joined the group, rounding out the lineup. For their third album, the group traveled to L.A. to record with respected producer Kevin Augunas (the Lumineers, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros) at his Fairfax Studio. The resulting self-titled album was released in April 2014.( Allmusic.com )
