Chicken or the Egg (Kraftwerk or Coldplay)

Chicken or the Egg (Kraftwerk or Coldplay)

The very first time I hear a full Coldplay album was about 2003 or 2004 at my sister's house while we're having dinner and I was impressed, yes they hit me and hit me hard with the A Rush Blood To The Head.

A few years later I was in love with several of their songs including Talk. The time pass and I listen to the German band Kraftwerk and Computer Love and take me a time to realize that They were taking advantage of the Coldplay song Talk (2005) and think "they are using a successful song to sale their music" DEAD WRONG!!!

What a surprise Krafwek it's a real old band in spite of their years their sound it's pretty actual, Computer Love was released in 1981 Chirs Martin was 4 years old.

So I learn my lesson, first check and then "TALK"

If you have some story kind like this I would love to know.

Wish you only the very best!!!

It's true @rossi1911... we already have this song in the Playlist, Green Day is 2004 but we take the song because another group (Simple Plan with Your Love is a Lie 2008)   sound just like it.

Now Oasis song is about 1995 so this is the original one....

@Jpgchief I found another similarity. The reff in Holy Mountain sounds similar to the reff in Ricky Martin's She Bangs...

I just listen to the songs and both of your post are now in the Playlist, thanks @tamtitam, but I want to know how did you discover this two?, You are young and both of your options are pretty old songs... I'll be waiting.

@Jpgchief, only by listening. I'm not young, but not a Velvet or Zepp generation either- still I think 60s and 70s are the most productive and best years for music. VU (and Lou Reed) is one of my favourite artists of all time.

I have some more 🙂

Unfortunately, I don't speak Spanish - even though I understood (more-less) what you said, thank you 🙂

Last names, espesially female last names, can be misleading some times. 🙂

I have a nice couple for you this time.

An older version:

and, busted, on the other side:

It was my fault I thought that by your name you'd be speaking Spanish but never mind and it's good that you understand the message, now in terms of the songs you're right and even had this song of Led Zepellin but with is another

spotify:track:6zXPos9oten42jCa7RcaKO

What do you think about this three songs?

I started this thread more than a year ago (wow) and the past weekend I find this song You Can't Kill My Rock'n Roll by Hardcore Superstar band from Sweden, the song  give name to the album

spotify:track:5NOUUHpyI3lVMjEE5FKNCj

As soon the song start the principal part of the song the riffs that they use sound so similar to me from this other great, great song from 1983 Legs by ZZ Top part of the album Eliminator (great memories).

spotify:track:7t6CAWplijBj4sdl0q3z0e

And the fact that this album premieres on the same day that Billy F Gibbons (1/3 of ZZ Top) also releases his new album seems peculiar to me, what do you think about all this? Are the songs really similar? Or is just my imagination....

June 20, 2020.

Hi y'all yesterday I find another track for this thread, yesterday the band was released this track by King's Division a brand new Indie rock band

spotify:track:20xCh6roryNyJGkjSBQ1Z6

The problem is that sound really similar to this other track by QOTSA

spotify:track:0wzRcekWyVCSyPtlPOeJau

Or what you think?

When I question about the similitude to the band they told me

"Are you tripping or something? Look back at previous lawsuits like the Led Zeppelin one for example. You cannot own "similar" and frankly take it from me as the writer that whilst I enjoy QUOTSA it never crossed my mind to rip it off"

"I mean I take it as a compliment I love QOTSA. But I don't see a chord progression as lawsuit worthy, Taylor wasn't it who tried to own a melody haha"

Take a listen and make your own opinion.

Cheers!!!
