I'd like to know what artist or band you'd never listen to, regardless of the amount of pressure you get from your friends.

I was forced to listen to 100 gecs. Did not like... : )
Production-wise it's quite wonderful how the two ignore set rules and run through lands not taken on by most others, but I did not find anything I could enjoy in their sound. Lots others enjoy them, so that's cool enough.

And then I later learned Amon doesn't like them either.

I have a hard time enjoying Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato and others too for some reason. They're all good artists, I just... don't feel enough interest/attachment/??? to last through more than a couple of songs at a time. There was a playlist consisting of those artists put together by one member of a server, and that was a rather challenging listen for me

Now to the unfortunate: I was played a few songs off King Crimson's THRAK, and... it was physically painful for me to the level I just don't want to give the rest of that artist a chance. Yes I should at least look at the In The Court of the Crimson King release just because it's such a well-known record.

I do relate though because a lot of artists I listen to,are unknown to my friends. Listening parties are therefore, usually torture 🙃

If her fans read this, they're gonna come for me...BUT I can't stand Ariana Grande. I hear her music everywhere.  Yes, she has a beautiful voice, but the kind of music she puts out isn't for me (kinda annoying to be honest). If she did different genres, maybe I would try.

The only time I listen to her will be at Christmas when I listen to the Kelly Clarkson collaboration in her Christmas album.

For me it would probably be Dimmu Borgir and actually all black metal bands and that kind of roaring music. I respect their talent, how they are able to do that sound. It really requires great technique, but I just don't like that kind of music at all.

For me, it's Twenty One Pilots. I had a collaborative playlist with a few friends and two of them were adding songs from them. I don't use the playlist ever anymore cause I was tired of skipping those tracks haha

It's this album in particular that bugs me the most!

This is actually kind of a bummer because 21 Pilots, they're one of my favorite artists 🙂.

But yes, there's only one song I like from the album you posted,March To The Sea. It makes sense why they'd annoy you.

And I'm all for freedom of expression so thanks for sharing 💚

I can actually relate to how you feel about that music.

I know very few songs in that genre,metal,which I've liked and yet I have a couple of friends who are totally into it.

But they're a cool bunch so we're friends with different tastes and that's fine,lends to authentic personalities.

for me it's the growling vocals that just put me off. : ) Maybe it triggers a flight response in my inner lizard brain, I don't know. But I just can't enjoy this kind of singing vocals.

The instrumentals are often pretty incredible in those songs...... Oh well.

Yeah, actually the growling exactly is also for me the worst thing in that kind of music. I just couldn't get the right word in to my mind earlier. Thanks for help😄 

All though that kind of music is too heavy for me anyway. I like hard rock and heavy metal to some point, but black metal is way too heavy for me.
