LOOKING FOR BEAUTIFUL BUT SAD (mainly) ROCK SONGS

Hello there, I have Spotify playlist for times I'm not feeling very cheerful. However, 95% of those songs are in my life for AGES. I need something new to touch my heart with beautiful yet sad lyrics and wonderful music.

Any ideas?

I have been working in a project about sad music, not just about couple break ups, also lost of friend like Stone Temple Pilots song https://open.spotify.com/track/7wvD299omOEJLwxHDs4GeY?si=cdEZfg4UTySFiNHetmyxVg or father like The Wonder Years https://open.spotify.com/track/564dOJEso5LyJVuk5rrV0O?si=mtdIO0ggQ7e0kpNye44B9Q

I highly, highly recommend Be Safe by The Cribs. It's not as melody heavy as some of your others, but for me it perfectly captures the feelings that kind of depression felt after a loss. Both the music and verbal montage paint a picture that vascillates between numbness, devestating sadness, outburts of upset anger, small snippets of happy memories.

If you're looking for more melody-heavy sad songs, I'd recommend:
Crossing Over by Five Finger Death Punch
Lydia by Highly Suspect
Elenor Rigby by Godhead
This Probably Won't End Well by All That Remains
What's Wrong by Pvris
Jenny by Nothing More
Rooster by Alice in Chains
Scream with Me by Mudvayne
Pardon Me by Incubus
Creep by Radiohead
Closure by Chevelle

I like Be Safe, I can't quite explain it but it feels familiar somehow? As for 5FDP, I have that song in my TOP150 in my phone but I somehow forgot to add this and few others to my spotify playlist and I was kinda shocked when I saw your recommendation haha

I still prefer The Beatles version of Eleanor Rigby, but thanks anyways! 🙂

I'm glad you liked any of the recommendations! Music is so personal and it can be tough to guess what someone will like. Happy listening!

First - 'So Far Away' is SUCH a gorgeous and haunting song ... i remember when it came out following the event of the loss of the drummer and keepng those scratch vocals ... makes my hair stand up EVERY TIME

I sing in an electronic rock band called Bullet Height. This song, Fever is along the lines of what you're asking for ... that and I've included another song 'Wild Words' ... they both pick up at the end but fit within the vibe you're looking for. I hope you enjoy !

I reccomend 'Brother' By Falling in Reverse....in my opinion it's a great sad song

This is my favourite song of all time - https://open.spotify.com/track/2mOiA0sIcFE9rZmRmq0QNx

Wait till the end when the electric guitar comes in! Magic!

I'd reccomend you listen to some of the newer and or older Three Days Grace songs. They have a strong meaning behind them

Hey RuinedSociety, I know all of their songs already, thanks 🙂

180 songs so far not all of them as you ask but  you can find plenty of that

You probably listen to this countless times but it's worth mentioning.

This one is straight from my childhood and I haven't heard it in a while. Thanks 🙂

no thoughts no prayers by grandson is really good tbh, also Mr. brightside by the killers, and overdose by grandson.
