Interesting playlist, @AaronFreedman - thanks for sharing! Would you mind telling us a bit more about it and the tracks you picked?

 

I'm trying to expand my knowledge on classic oldies or gems like that so it'd be nice to see some backstory on why you chose these or how you curated your playlist 🙂

 I curate Playlists as if I were doing a DJ set. Therefore, I like the selection, as a whole, to have a sonic coherence. I find the 60s and 70s to be especially attractive because many musical styles explored a related rhythmic experience, or groove. I selected tracks where the rhythms are certainly propulsive, but at a slower, steady tempo and have an atmospheric, psychedelic feel. So I included primarily jazz-funk, psychedelic rock, progressive rock, soul, and psychedelic jazz.

 

I like digging for tracks that May not be necessarily well known. There is just so much music out there.
