Remakes are such a thing. Either you love them or you hate them. I mostly have my problems with remakes. Especially cheap dance or techno versions of classics make me feel ashamed. Alok & Sevenn had fun with ‘The Wall‘ by Pink Floyd. The sound is nice (which was to be expected from the participating artists) and the arrangement is really great! Not overloaded, not over the top and not cheesy. It does not sound like money should be earned quickly. No, it sounds really great. There is nothing more to write about.
Do you like remakes and how do you like this? I’m looking forward to your comment.
On Spotify you can hear the track on the Festival Anthems 2019 playlist. And… yeah! I got a new one (very personal): Klangspot Electro. Techno, House, Minimal or whatever: On this playlist are all my current electro favorites regardless of genre or release date. The playlist is constantly being edited and re-sorted.
If I like the original track then usually I like the remake, although it usually depends on which artist is covering the song. Here are a few covers of classic rock songs (albeit still rock music, rather than electronic/EDM) that I particularly enjoy, sometimes even more than the original:
