Hey guys,
New to the forum; saw this posted on another forum I frequent and thought it was a great idea.
The premise is this:
I will post a song and the person will reply with a rating (1-10) of their subjective opinion of the song with a short write up of how they liked/disliked it. They will then post a song for the user that posts next to review.
Please limit this to songs we can all access on Spotify. You can right-click on the song in Spotify on the computer and click the "Copy Spotify URI"
Thanks!
- Mackey
My song:
The bassline here is really captivating. It's constant, and not overbearing. It's a great director for the rest of the song, especially the crescendo into the chorus, which is intoxicating in it's own right.
It's not an overall complex or difficult song, but it is still very sonically pleasing. What's nice about this group, and this song in particular, is that they make use of the slight-voice-distortion-sound in a great way. The layers with the drums, bass, the lead vocals, and the backing vocals make for a great driving tune, which I'm sure will make many rotations as the days get colder.
Great tune!! 7.5/10.
Here's mine:
Good instruments and vocals but I can't tell what it's about. A girl I'm guessing. I give it a 5.

Sorry I thought I was reviewing Emannuel.
@ReeceUK, after rating the previous track post a new one for the next poster to review. 🙂
I take a chance and give The Pharcyde - Passin' Me By. It has been sampled by Utah Jazz (Quincy) and Nightmares On Wax (Nights Interlude), and possibly many more.

I suppose the next reviewer will have TWO songs to listen to and give a rating for. : )

@rossi1911 what an awesome idea ^_^
definitely has a smooth jingle to it, the harmony with himself is beautiful and probably my favourite track off the album 6/10

@Sebasty beautiful choices thus far!
Not my favorite, it was a little slow for me with nothing much besides a basic beat and come lyrics. To each his own though.
Hey @rossi1911! : )
I see it's a pretty poular track. Much more popular than most of what I'm usually listening to.
And I can see hear why. Nice calm song with memorable piano chords and good voice. Could hear that the piano sort of surrounded me when she started to sing...
My own taste is a bit different though, so it will get a 7 from me.
@crematedman Thank you, glad you like 'em. 🙂
For now I'll give a song from Glass Prism - A Dream Within a Dream. Amon has sampled it... Currently not sure which track.

When I first read the title, i thought about Edger Allen Poe's poem, a dream, within a dream, and wondered if they were related. When I looked them up and saw that there other most popular sogn was the raven I knew that there had to be a similarity.I was not expecting it to be a singing verson of the poem! The music is not exactly my tase, but it was deffinently interesting.
I would rate it a 6 out of 10. I didn't hate it, but I wouldnt go out of my way to play it. However serious props on picking out an interesting song.

This song came up on my discovery the other day. I didn't love it the first time I heard it, but after listening a few times it grew on me. The lyrics made me giggle a little bit the first time i listen to it becuase it reminded me of a silly memory.
