Hi everyone, 

First of all, let me share that I started listening music with a lot of guitars, such as metal or some rock genres, on a relatively late age when I was already in the university. I couldn't become such a big fan, but I still listen to some bands like Lacuna Coil and The Birthday Massacre. One of the tracks I've always found impressive in terms of guitar solo is performed by progressive rock band Porcupine Tree.

A non-rock pick, this song is by Bulgarian neofolk band Isihia and let's you feel the magical space of Bulgarian folklore with all of its mythical creatures and stories:

The band consists of multitude of people mastering different musical instruments used in the traditional folklore music.

There are so many great solos out there especially by the old masters! It's hard to decide. This one is a "newer" song that got me hooked lately and includes some very nice solo parts:
