Share favorite transitions between songs on albums

Are there any albums for which you appreciate the transition between two consecutive tracks? Feel free to share, as well as to mention why you enjoy listening to these transitions.

From my own listening habits, a couple of favorite examples come to mind from live albums by the jam bands Phish and the Grateful Dead, where the band members improvise their way from the first song to the next one in the concert. The whimsical jamming that “connects” the songs is, in each example, my favorite part of the live album that they’re from; this is probably because the jamming sounds to me creative and exploratory in its own right, yet also guides a smooth transition from the first song to the next one:

“Halley’s Comet” -> “NICU” from Phish’s LivePhish, Vol. 1 12/14/95 (Broome County Arena, Binghamton, New York) album:

“Scarlet Begonias” -> “Fire on the Mountain” from the Grateful Dead’s Cornell 5/8/77 album:

I’m curious to hear if anyone else also enjoys transitions between songs on albums, whether from live performances or studio releases. Cheers!

(I'm assuming the second song will autoplay, only linking the first parts)

Opeth's Watershed was the first album i heard from them, the transition from first to second song has and will stick with me forever, not even really a "proper transition" so much as having the rug pulled out from beneath you.

Nonpoint was probably the first band that showed me one can groove to heavier music.

Thanks for sharing these examples, @tynon_1221! I was coincidentally listening to a few songs from Lateralus (my current favorite TOOL album) earlier today, and had forgotten how well “Parabol” introduces the next track, “Parabola.” I also think that the transition between Opeth’s “Coil” and “Heir Apparent” sounds really cool, kind of like the sound of a jet flying overhead; and I agree that Nonpoint’s “The Longest Beginning” sets the groove in place nicely for the next track. Cheers!

I was waiting til i went to work to check your suggestions, very cool! Not even albums, just one long song, a musical novel with hefty chapters. Thank you for the respite in that easy listening, almost makes me feel guilty for my usual preferences... 🤣on that note, also want to directly thank you for indirectly leading me to The (()John()) Candy via the Game thread, usually takes me days to decide to follow someone on Spotify but that was an easy decision.
