What's your favorite throwback track in your Time Capsule?

I've been listening to my new and personalized Time Capsule and I'm obsessed with it!

Why you'd ask? Because it's pretty cool to look back at some of my favorite tracks that I once upon a time was listening to so much. It's like a treasure chest you'd hidden somewhere, semi-forgotten. Re-opening it and discovering all the gems 💎 behind brings me lots of joy!

Since I'm convinced I'm not the only one out there loving the nostalgia, let's share here with the Community all the throwback tracks that made an impression to us in the past.

Even though it's quite hard to pick just one track I loved (the whole Time Capsule is soo good), today's must be spotify:track:7xMmjUm5gb3q9g4q2bPfxm

It's a very melodic track featuring two of my favorite artists.

What's yours?

My favorite song from my Time Capsule is probably “Laid to Rest” by Lamb of God, since it reminds me of playing this song, among many others that I liked, in the Guitar Hero II video game (Xbox 360) when I was in high school:

My favorite song from Time Capsule is Times Like These by Foo Fighters. It reminds me of singing it with friends when we were in high school.

Interesting picks @AdamDam and @rossi1911, thanks for sharing your favorites! I find it fascinating that most tracks in my Time Capsule are tracks I listened to on repeat while studying - even if I wasn't actively paying attention, they still bring out a wave of nostalgia...

I haven't heard either before, will be checking them out 🙂

Soul Education sounds like it fits the theme of tracks we shared so far that we've listened to while in school @Dodecalog 😄 Nice addition!

This one I hadn't listened to in 5 years (pretty much since it came out) before my Time Capsule unburied it for me, but I can remember exactly where I was when I was listening to it - geographically speaking, but I guess it also reminds me of that period as a whole, just like this one, which I also listened to a lot at around that time:

@Katerina - I'd kinda forgotten about my Time Capsule playlist - thanks for the prompt, and for giving me an excuse to plunge into and bathe in the past for a while 😄

Here's the rest of the playlist - featuring Imagine Dragons, Coldplay, Chet Faker, Passenger - all from the distant 2015/16:

This is a favorite. This song singlehandedly led me to grunge and the comfort I found there.  Soundgarden is still my favorite of all and I love a lot of those grunge bands.

I'm just wondering how come Spotify knows about these - I used to listen to them on cassette tapes 🤣 📻

Cheers!

Sorry it took me this long to check back in!

@Peter - Nice picks! I remember listening to them quite often in the past myself, although they don't hold the same importance for me as they do for you I bet. But I do find some tracks here and then that take me back to certain moments or feelings in life with perfect clarity, as if I traveled in the past.

@MCLeffers That's lovely to hear - music has quite the power to lift our spirits and comfort us, doesn't it! Do you have any new tracks spotted  in your Time Capsule outside of the grunge genre?

@Jpgchief - hope this thread made you love this playlist then haha! What a lovely sentiment to link a track to 🙂

@Aloy - thanks for sharing your favorite track with us! Would you be keen to share a bit more on what makes it special for you? If not, that's cool too 🙂

I have peculiar music tastes and I enjoy very much listening to classic bands/artists/tracks to expand my music knowledge, so it's pretty cool everyone's sharing their favorite Your Time Capsule tracks here!

@Ivan - neat tracks, thanks for sharing! When I first moved here, my boyfriend used to play a lot of good old fashion radio (Radio Energy) - I think I've listened to Freestyler a billion times haha! Brings back such cool memories.

Todays' Time Capsule includes this french track: spotify:track:65uoaqX5qcjXZRheAj1qQT - took me back to when I was a young student learning french and hearing this on the radio. I loved it so much, it's actually the reason I bought my first physical CD ever. 🎶

Did you all get any new re-discovered gems? Share them 🙂

This is the one from my time capsule I am still hooked on. I actually do listen to time capsule whenever I am in the mood for some old favourites.
