"Spotify Users Demand HiFi: The Push for Superior Sound Quality"

Spotify users are increasingly demanding HiFi audio to elevate their music listening experience. As streaming services continue to improve, the need for superior sound quality becomes paramount. HiFi audio provides the depth, clarity, and richness that audiophiles crave, allowing listeners to fully immerse themselves in their favorite tracks. With the rise of high-quality audio equipment and the growing awareness of sound fidelity, it's clear that standard streaming quality is no longer sufficient for many users. Spotify must prioritize offering HiFi audio to meet the expectations of its discerning audience and stay competitive in the evolving digital music landscape.

I will move to Apple Music in January if we can't get lossless here until January

I agree, 100%.  I see the app (Windows) preferences for low, medium, high and very high 'Streaming quality' under Edit > Preferences, but, besides my keen sense of hearing, how do i know what quality level each song I'm listening to is?  With various recordings of certain songs, I'm trying to locate the higher bitrate tracks and right now Spotify doesn't tell you what you're streaming.  I suppose we're supposed to accept our chosen Streaming quality option in good faith?

I'm hopefully bumping your post with this reply.

I do have a feeling that Spotify is working on lossless audio and higher quality audio. It wouldn’t make sense for them to not have it, since one of their biggest competitors (Apple Music) has it.

Lossless audio increases streaming costs since record labels and rights holders may demand higher payouts for higher-quality streams.

Not all devices support lossless audio playback, meaning users may not even benefit from the feature unless they have high-quality headphones, DACs, or speakers.

Bluetooth audio compression (like SBC and AAC) limits the benefits of lossless streaming unless using wired headphones or high-end codecs.

So it’s quite complicated…
