Do you create recurring playlist "types"?

I didn’t just stumble upon this — I consciously started building a kind of recurring playlist “type” because I liked the idea.

Years ago I made “Just Rock”, a playlist of what I considered essential rock songs at the time. Later, when I got into J-Pop, I created “Just J-Pop” Most recently, I made “Just Rhythm” focused on hip-hop and R&B.

I like the idea of having this series of playlists with the same “Just …” theme, each representing a genre I really connect with. I’d love to create more, but I feel like I need to fall in love with a new style first.

Do any of you do something similar — building a series of playlists around a recurring theme?

Nice topic, @OscarCampohermoso!

Yes, most of my public playlists are based around a specific genre, or else combine songs from adjacent musical styles; so in a way, there’s an overarching theme (genres of music) for them as a series. Here’s one such playlist that I’ve created, as an example:

I’ve also created playlists containing just music released during certain years, starting from 2020 and continuing to 2025. Here’s my “2020 Releases” playlist, for instance:

Cheers!
