Can anyone explain why my Melodic House playlists have so few votes, when lesser, tuneless (in my opinion) MH playlists have over 1000 followers? Please let me know what I'm doing wrong. Many Thanks:

Hi @GoroNZ, thanks for sharing that!
I know it can be frustrating to pour time and care into a Spotify playlist only to see it go mostly unnoticed. I've listened to it and as a DJ myself, I can tell you it's really good! I'm definitely following it 🙂
But sometimes even the best playlist won’t get traction if people don’t see it. Your playlist is competing with millions of others. Discovery is hard without promotion.
I'd suggest you to share it on your social media channels.
Also, active playlists often grow better. If it’s been static, Spotify’s algorithm may deprioritize it. I see you've been updating it regularly, so keep up!
Finally, you could generate a Spotify Code for your playlist, making it simple for others to access and share it. These codes can be used in both digital and print formats.
Implementing these strategies can enhance your playlist's visibility and attract more followers over time.
Good luck!
Hey @GoroNZ,
I'm sorry for the late reply.
Here's my Spotify profile so you can see if you like any of the playlists 🙂
Yes, to grow a playlist with no social media promotion is even harder. I'd suggest you Instagram and TikTok.
Let's keep in touch!
Cheers,
Hi, thanks for links to your playlists.
I added the first track I listened to - Panther City- to my Americana playlist, and added other very interesting tracks. This is refreshing my music knowledge.
As an example, I had stumbled across some excellent South American and Spanish bands (Arno Elias, Andrew Pololas, Verbesse) which are prominent in my playlists, but now can add many more from an aficionado
Thanks again for advice and playlists, Rob

Hi Bittencourt
You have answered all of my questions about playlist promotion, and even though it's the only reply, it compensates for the apathy elsewhere due to being so informative
Can you send me a link to your playlists, so I can return the compliment?
I am not a Social media user apart from Facebook, which I rarely visit. I suppose that I hoped those who liked my playlists would spread the word, but it's obviously not that easy. I am not doing this purely for ego, but friends who like them use them as background music. This is the reason they are generally 12 hours, against perceived playlist wisdom. Which social media should I use, and how would I promote them?
I moved to NZ from the UK, and pub culture is much less prevalent here as Kiwis prefer to hang out in cafes. They are generally good apart from the typically dire music choice, so this gave me the impetus for playlists. Initially I created a 12 hour playlist for each day of the week. 'Wednesday' is most popular at 240 followers.
Looking forward to exploring your playlists, as I would guess we have a similar 'ear' for music. Cheers Rob

Hi Bittencourt,
thanks for further advice - I will set up accounts. Do you have any advice for a 'sell' on Til Tok and Instagram?
I get a Spotify 'Page not Found' when I click on your link?
Cheers Rob

Well, one of the best ways to promote a playlist is showing a snippet of a few songs in it, and even better if you briefly comment on each of them.
Just be true and passionate as I guess you are about them, and people should engage.
