Hey, I hope you're doing great, I have the opportunity to chat with Skar de Line a couple of weeks ago and he shares some stuff about his newest track released yesterday and that is part obviously of my playlist Fresh Singles, here some stuff he talks about:

Hey, I hope you're having a great start to the week, here is one of the most recent additions to this playlist, and also I have the chance to chat with Jonathan, and here is something that he shares with me about the backstory for this track, I hope you can enjoy it as much as I do.

"I wrote the first version of this song in under two hours, and it was the first good song I'd ever written. It was one of those moments where pent-up emotion pours out into some form of art in a way that feels completely outside the artist's influence or control. In particular, what sparked "Get Away" was the frustration of deteriorating childhood friendships; of a work-dominant, passionless life; of declining mental health. I associated these things with my hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and became obsessed with getting out. Even at the time, though, I knew deep down that my issue wasn't the place I lived but the lack of quality relationships and community in my life. Regardless, I wound up saving up all my money and backpacking Western Europe within a year of writing the song. "Get Away" comes from a very real, almost desperate sense of longing from my past, and revisiting it five years later to record it and share it with the world is, I hope, a way to connect with those grappling with a similar sense of discontent".

Hey, today I have the chance to chat with Cecil eX, he's a rapper from Pittsburg and has a new track "Butterfly Brains" released July 01st and he shared this with me:

"I got the beat in a pack of like 8 or 9 from Blindforlove, one of my favorite indie producers. I initially gravitated to it because of that twinkly guitar loop. I absolutely love Math Rock and Midwest Emo. Best Buds from Mom Jeans. is one of my favorite albums of all time. I must've listened to this instrumental a few dozen times before I wrote anything for it, which why the first line is "overthinking as of recent …" I think I overthink a lot in my writing process, but it leads me to make really thoughtful Hip Hop music."
