Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears out of Austin, TX just keep making their way into the headphones.  It's a massive dose of classic R&B, Soul and blues.  Joe's voice captures elements of James Brown, Howlin' Wolf, etc.  Some of the guitar riffs sound like they came right out of a Stax Records recording session.  Some is really Lo-Fi. Not for everyone, but it's fresh stuff (and anyone who doesn't want to live in a place called 'Booty City' after hearing that tune is hurtin' for certain).  He's got four studio albums out, but my favorite, hands down, is "Scandalous" from 2011.
