I've just released my latest single 'I Can't Sleep' written about the frustration with having insomnia. I'm often awake for days on end so wanted to turn the experience into a song. Are you familiar with the band Dredg (progressive/alternative) and their 2002 album "El Cielo"? It's a concept album, influenced by a painting by Salvador Dali, titled "Dream caused by the flight of a bee around a pomegranate a second before awakening." The painting symbolizes sleep paralysis, and many of the tracks are influenced by this concept. The booklet with El Cielo contains letters written by sufferers of sleeping disorders with descriptions of various experiences with or relating to sleep paralysis. It's quite fascinating, really.
