30 minutes ad-free lasted 10 minutes

Put the kids down last night (Christmas eve), wanted to put on some sleepy-time Christmas music for them, so fired up Spotify.  Straight away, got a 'watch this ad for 30 minutes ad-free'.  Perfect, I think.  I'll watch the Pampers ad, set it to cast to the google mini in the kids room, tell the mini to stop playing in 20 minutes, kiss the kids goodnight, Santa can get to work.  10 minutes later, an obnoxious ad is BLARING from the speaker (I'd turned it up a little because the sleepy-time music is very quiet).  Back for round 2 of putting the kids to bed.... 😒 .... 😓........  Thanks so very much, Spotify..  🙄

Similar issue, I would watch the ad, and then 4 more would play after, and then not even 10 minutes later, 2 songs, I get more ads, it’s honestly outrageously inconsistent. I know I didn’t click out during the ad, I’m in an iPhone 11 with up to date OS.

I'm also having the same issue, it started a few weeks ago for me.

Device: Samsung Galaxy M20, using the most recent update (Android 9)

Spotify Version: 8.5.40.195 and was happening in previous versions as well

For example, yesterday every two songs I had the 30 min ad-free video, at some point, it was quick to don't watch the video,

The video's ad was about dental care and also perfume.

This occurred on February 4, 2020.
At 4:34 PM, I was offered 30 minutes ad free and proceeded to watch a Turbo tax video. At 4:39, I again received the offer of 30 minutes ad free. I was shown a Mohegan Sun ad, a AAA insurance ad, a Wells Fargo ad, and an Icy Hot ad. Finally, at 4:58, I was offered 30 minutes ad free and was shown a beauty rest ad.

Hopefully this helps in resolving this issue.

Hey folks, 

We've checked with our tech team and this issue has now been resolved. In case you spot the same app behavior, check for the following:

• Keep the video ad in focus and don't navigate to another app, browser, etc. 
• Make sure you're not accidentally clicking the "No, thanks" button when prompted to watch the ad.

Jus had this happen as well, in the middle of my workout. Right at the start, I got the prompt to watch an add for 30 mins of add free music. I watch the add, then switched to my workout tracking app to start my workout, with Spotify in the background. My workout app tracks the time from start to finish, so 19 mins in, I suddenly had adds. Super annoying and I feel duped 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hi i am having problems with adverts, i am getting them every 10 minutes without fail, and then i will have 3 adverts in a row, one of which will always say that i now have 30 minutes of no adverts, which obviously isn’t happening. This is happening on my iphone 6s and my ipad pro. It started happening a few months ago. I have Spotify version 8.5.51.877, and i am in the UK. Please can you stop this?
