Album Covers Don't Show on iOS Lock Screen Player

We've been getting reports that album covers don't appear correctly on the iOS lockscreen. This is being investigated. 

Hi there folks,

 

A fix for this has been deployed in the latest version. Please make sure your device is updated and test if everything works. Consider performing a clean reinstall as well to get things on the right track.

 

If the issue persists, please provide us the following info:

  • The exact app version you're on
  • What iOS version you're using
  • Does it happen after listening to local files? Does it happen to all songs after breaking?
  • Screenshots or a video of the behaviour. If the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos.

With this info, we'll continue the investigation if necessary.

 

NOTE: If you're facing the issue on CarPlay, be advised that there's a different issue about that. We're aware of it and investigating it separately. If this applies to you, check out this thread to stay updated and make sure to try any provided troubleshooting and send any necessary info.

We'd like to look further into this issue and so it'd be very helpful if you could share the following details (in case you've not done this already):

  • Make, model and OS-version of the affected device(s).
  • Exact Spotify-version.
  • What troubleshooting steps you've done so far?
  • Does this behavior happen only on the lock screen?

Appreciate the cooperation and we'll be on the lookout.

It happens no matter what. Only in this iOS update it has occurred to me. I even reset my whole phone. It is driving me crazy.

Hi!

Here are some details:

 

iphone 16 pro

Ios 18.2

spotify version: 9.0.2.419

 

already done clean install of Spotify app

restart mobile

 

Art cover doesn’t show up on mobile Lock Screen neither on CarPlay. 

no problem when connecting on WiFi at home. 

in the car, when pausing the title and then resume, cover appears clearly. 

hope this help for future updates.

I’m having the same issue too. Artwork not loading on Lock Screen consistently.
