Album Covers Don't Show on iOS Lock Screen Player

We've been getting reports that album covers don't appear correctly on the iOS lockscreen. This is being investigated. 

Hi there folks,

 

A fix for this has been deployed in the latest version. Please make sure your device is updated and test if everything works. Consider performing a clean reinstall as well to get things on the right track.

 

If the issue persists, please provide us the following info:

  • The exact app version you're on
  • What iOS version you're using
  • Does it happen after listening to local files? Does it happen to all songs after breaking?
  • Screenshots or a video of the behaviour. If the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos.

With this info, we'll continue the investigation if necessary.

 

NOTE: If you're facing the issue on CarPlay, be advised that there's a different issue about that. We're aware of it and investigating it separately. If this applies to you, check out this thread to stay updated and make sure to try any provided troubleshooting and send any necessary info.

It seemed to be working ok suddenly but today I’m getting no artwork at all on CarPlay or Lock Screen.

New version out 9.0.16.583, looks that all is working fine for me, let’s give it some more days to draw a final conclusion. But ok so far….

Still broken on my end, unchecking “Media & Apple Music” fixes it for a few songs but the issue comes back. I am updated to the latest version “9.0.18”. Any update on this fix, this is getting ridiculous.

I dont know about u guys but its been more than a week now and its FIXED for me and i drive everyday with carplay and spotify on, not a single issue here

Didn’t find the Apple music and media option but i flipped everything while playing as u said then it force stopped the app then everything now works like a freaking charm. Thanks a lot Gibby❤️

If it helps I noticed that this seems to happen everything I am in the undergroud (no connetion), and when I back on the network there is no artwork when I stream music. I need to close Spotify and restart it to make it work well.

 

So it must be some sort of data saving mode that happens under the hood and does not return to the normal state when there is more available data?

As of version 9.0.20.538, I'm still seeing blank album covers. Glad to hear others have had theirs fixed - hoping a fix comes for iOS 18.3 and 18.4! 

 

Something odd that I have noticed is that the Widget works in Low Power mode, but not when I am not using Low Power mode.
