Album Covers Don't Show on iOS Lock Screen Player

We've been getting reports that album covers don't appear correctly on the iOS lockscreen. This is being investigated.

My Question or Issue

When i play a local file song then switch back to a normal song, the normal song no longer has an album cover.  It has the same blank cover as every local file song. Every song afterwards keeps the blank cover. This only happens on the apple car play screen, the album covers appears on my phone, just not on the carplay screen. When i close the app on my phone then reopen it, the songs will show the album covers like normal, until I play a local file song then it goes back to showing no song cover.

My guess is local file metadata breaking it. That’s what happens in the video I posted. I played a local file and no album artwork for the rest of the songs.

I have fully uninstalled and reinstalled Spotify, as well as having tried with and without my local files, album art is still missing most of the time. I've tried everything, clearing cache, restarting iPhone etc. Need this fixed asap 🙏

From my experience on premium my iPad couldn't display album covers correctly on the lock screen when playing downloaded songs when I didn't have access to the internet.

I’ve just started getting this today. App Store says I’m on the most recent version. Spotify says I’m on

9.0.28.607  

edit - I had to reboot my phone after it ran out of battery and the reboot seems to have fixed it

Changing from WIFI to data and vice versa causes art work to disappear, even with downloaded music.
If I close the app and go back to WIFI, artwork suddenly reappears. 

Not sure why this is happening but I have tested it and issue occurs mostly every time.

I have everything up to date (IOS, Spotify) so my guess is the app is faulty.

My Question or Issue

Issue 1 when connected to my car it shows the album cover of the previous song even tho the Lock Screen album cover matches the song.

issue 2 is there a place to disable autoplay on opening Spotify with a widget in iOS? It always starts with the first song and it’s annoying lol thanks for any help of fixes in advance

When i’m offline or online the album cover on the lock screen works for like 10 songs and then turns into the grey music note and it’s pretty boring having on ur phone.

I cleared cache,reinstalled and redownloaded everything and is still blank.

Please fix asap🙏🙏

This issue is still happening. I am running version 9.0.30.604 and ios18.4. I have reinstalled the app and it’s still the same.

This issue also affects CarPlay.

it happens to me and to some friends of mine too! it's incredibly annoying. I sent a complaint to apple too. i hope it gets solved asap.
