Album art / Song name not showing on Volvo after spotify update

I have a Volvo V40 and connect my phone via the cable, before last up-date I could see every track and album art on my Volvo screen. Now when I connect up I get the album art and track name but when Spotify goes onto the next track or I press skip all I get is 'Spotify' no name or art work. If I manually pull the plug out and put it back in the art will appear again but only for first track. Keen to know if this is effecting anyone else as presume its any car that connects this way and if Spotify have a known issue ? thanks v much

Could you let us know what device, operating system and Spotify version you're using? Also, is this happening when you listen to your music in offline mode?

Hi Monica,

 

THanks - im using an Iphone 6s, with IOS and the Spotify version is 7.9.0.545


I decided to reinstall the app and also turn my iphone off and on again to see if I could stop the issue, it has only started to happen since I updated Spotify 2 versions ago.... When I plug the phone into the car album artwork comes up and then when I click next track it just says 'Spotify'. I have managed a work around which is to go into the menu in my car and select Shuffle then when I go back to the display artwork and text are back on just for that track. I presume this is an issue with the spotify software as I have not had my software in car upgraded. It would be fantastic if you could look into if any changes have happened in the build released previously as this is causing distractions. Many thanks and I really appreciate if someone from Spotify could help me I will also check if this is happening in offline mode 🙂 James

We'll make sure to pass all the info on to the right team. Also, let us know if the cable you're using is a USB or an Aux cable. Is this happening with downloaded music too? Finally, you could try a quick reinstall of the app with these steps
