There is a frustrating issue in the album collection view. Whenever I add/remove an album from my library scrolling position changes. This makes management of music library really painful, borderline impossible.
I noticed this issue immediately after coming back to Spotify a week or two ago, so I don't know how long it has been around.
Steps to reproduce the issue:
- Go to Albums
- Scroll down a bit (the effect is more pronounced towards the end of list).
- Remove an album by clicking the "x" button.
3a. (Alternatively) Navigate to album and click "Remove" button there, then go back to the album collection view.
Actual result:
The album is removed. The whole album collection reloads. Album placeholder size is different from the loaded item size which results in significant change of scrolling position.
Expected result:
The album is removed. Album collection does not reload, scrolling position is maintained.
What steps you’ve tried already:
Restarting device, reinstalling the app following the steps listed here, the issue remains.
Your device and operating system:
MacBook Pro 15 (Mid 2015), macOS Sierra 10.12.2
Type of Spotify account you have (Free/Premium):
Premium
The app version of Spotify you’re using:
1.0.45.186.g3b5036d6
Any screenshots, if they can help to explain your issue:
I recorded a demo of this bug (see attachment).
This issue also occurs when I resize window (not on the demo).

It's a bit frustrating to see such glaring neglect of user experience and realize that:
1. There are no real alternatives (at least not Apple Music, Tidal or Google Play Music).
2. Fixing this issue is probably going to take several months (remember the issue with lists jumping to the top after navigating back? Took at least 3 months to fix and prompted switch to Apple Music).
3. Any coming update may bring more issues like this. I am tempted to try to find a way to disable updates.
Hey @user-removed!
Thanks for the report. As we haven't received any new reports of this we're going to go ahead and close this thread.
The teams backstage are still investigating this and we hope to have an update soon. In the meantime, make sure you're rocking the latest version of Spotify and your operating system.
Cheers 🙂
