For aboiut 6-8 weeks, I have been getting only a black loading screen in the app, when I select an album, playlist, etc. form a conducted search. I have already tried all the basic troubleshooting steps (deleting cache, clearing data, reinstalling app, WiFi vs. cellular, etc.). Clearing data/ reinstalling app work, although only for about one day when clearing data/ reinstalling app have to be repeated.

I have attached a screen to explain what I mean by black loading screen.

Hey there folks,

Thanks for bearing with us while we were looking into this!

Keep in mind that this can happen when loading pages containing a lot of content, for example multiple chapters in audiobooks.

However, we've passed your reports to the right teams who will be continuing to improve the functionality of the app. To make sure you don't miss the latest fixes and improvements, we'd recommend keeping your devices and app up to speed with the latest updates available.

In the meanwhile, we'll be setting this Ongoing Issue as Not Right Now. We'll also keep you posted here if we have any further info to share.

Thanks again!

Hey there @RedD34TH!

Welcome to the Community and thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Could you try restarting your phone to see if that makes any difference for you?

If you still experience this, it might be caused by an issue with your device's cache. Not to worry, performing a clean reinstall of the app with the steps here should help solve this.

Keep in mind that you'll need to re-download your offline music and podcasts afterwards.

We'll be on the lookout for your update. Give us a shout if you have any further questions.

My Question or Issue

For months now, I have been having trouble with the albums tab within the Android app. When I click on "Your Library", my playlists load just fine. Then, when I try to click "Albums", I get a black screen with a green spinning loading symbol. Sometimes it loads quickly, other times it can take many minutes to load or doesn't ever load. I have tried reinstalling the Spotify app, clearing the cache, deleting all saved albums and data, restarting my phone, etc. I know this issue is not my internet connection because the problem happens in many places (randomly) and also I am able to play songs from my playlists without a problem.

Do you use an SD card on your phone? If you do can you make sure that it's formatted as temporary external storage and check it for any errors?

Could you also let us know if you experience this on 3/4G, Wi-Fi or both?

If a family member or a friend has a Spotify account, it could be a good idea to ask them to log in on your device to see if the app behaves the same way.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply. Feel free to get back to us if you have any further questions 🙂

My Question or Issue

When I open Spotify and try to load an audio book it takes about 5 minutes to load, another 5 minutes to start a chapter an even in between chapters are loading times about a minute.

I tried it on and offline and deleted the app and reinstalled it and deleted the cache. My phone does not have any running problems with other apps and enough storage both Ram and data.

Hi, I have a chromebook before the app was working only recently I started to have crashes but after restarting it will work again after some time, now something weird happened when I search artists it will show the artist but when I click on it it will say something went wrong try again and won't display artist albums song etc so I can't play anything.

But if i choose one of the playlists or albums that I played before I can play those so I can play only things that I played before if I choose an artist that I played before again it won´t display anything and say something went wrong try again

My Question or Issue

Hi everyone,

For over 2 weeks now, I am having repeatedly the issue that I cannot access content. For example, I Search for an album, it will appear in the search but when I click on it, it will just load forever and never show me the album. This also happens when I already downloaded content and just want to access it in the offline modus.

I closed and restarted the app, I logged out, I deinstalled the app and I restarted my phone multiple times. It has nothing to do with the wifi of mobile connection. It affects podcasts, audiobooks and music alike. I have enough storage on my phone etc. Sometimes it will work fine for a few days but then it stops working properly again...

I hope someone can help me to solve the issue as I am really thinking about canceling my premium plan if this goes on for longer. No point in spending money on something I cannot use.

Many thanks in advance!

Cheers

Ivan

Hey there @Robot10

Thanks for searching for the answer you need here!

Just to confirm, did you perform a clean reinstall of the app on your mobile or just a regular one? If not yet, we'd suggest you give it a try as the clean reinstall will refresh the cache on your device, which might sometimes cause issues with both online and offline performance. Check out this help page to find the steps for clean reinstall on your Samsung device.

In case you experience the same after a clean reinstall, would you mind sending us a video recording showing the behavior you describe? Just attach the video to your next response to us. This way we can take a closer look at the issue.

Tip: Make sure the recording doesn’t include any sensitive info such as payment or personal data.

Hope this helps. We'll look out for your reply.

Hi there!

I'm using Spotify (Premium/Family member) on my old Motorola G4 for listing to stories (I miss the english word for the german "Hörspiel") to fall into sleep 😉 The process is simple: search for the artist, tap on "discography" and choosen an episode. That worked for many month.

Since a few days I have the problem that I can search for the artist, but the app won't load the discrography. It seems as if there's no internet connection (s. attached screenshot). But there is (a very good one). Could verify the problem with another smarphone (Google Pixel 3XL).

Desinstalling helped but just for one day 😞

In my family I am the only one with the problems so it has to to something with my account I suppose...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

PS: Is there really NO official support from Spotify (helpdesk)? I can't believe it...
