My Question or Issue

After the latest update, app started to crash whenever I change the podcast speed. I tried to to clear cache and then all the files, but didn't fix it.

Alex

Hey @NorthAway,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community.

We're aware of this issue and the right teams at Spotify are investigating it atm. It'd be great if you can share the following info, which will help the devs:

  • Device make, model and exact OS version
  • Spotify Version
  • Is this happening on multiple devices

We'll be looking forward to your reply.

I had the exact problem start as well the past week. I have a Galexy S8, paid subscriber.

Also - the app takes a long time to restart after it crashes when I try to change speed. Really annoying.

Hi there everyone,

Thanks for reporting this issue to us!

Our tech teams have been looking into this and made some changes backstage.

Could you make sure your device and operating system are up-to-date before you try again and let us know how it goes?

If the issue persists,  it’d be great if you could tell us the exact Spotify version you are currently on as well as make and model of the affected device.

We'll be keeping an eye out for your replies, thanks!

Hi there, this has been happening for a few days, and it is unfortunately really distracting. I am facing some other problems as well, for example the app frequently thinks it is offline, while everything else works. 8.6.22.1112 version. I use a Samsung Note 9.

Yarokad

Its happening to me on version 8.6.22.1112 on Galaxy S8 . It is really irritating, esp since I am a big podcast listener.  Should I reinstall?

Xenia

Thanks for getting back to us @Yarokad and @Non-95!

There's been a newer Spotify version rolled out in the meantime (8.6.24). Could you update your device and check if this issue is still present?

If you're still having trouble adjusting the playback speed, we recommend performing a clean reinstall first. There could be a caching issue on your device, so we just want to eliminate that before we try anything else.

Keep us posted 🙂
