My app keeps crashing whenever I start playing a podcast. Music works fine.
Have re installed the app multiple times and cleared cache but nothing fixes it.

Android latest version available for Samsung Galaxy S8+
My Question or Issue
Hello
I started listening podcasts on spotify on my Samsung S8+. It runs well until I lock the phone or if I go to the main menu of my cellphone. I tried many times and restarting the phone but nothing. The only way that i found to fix it is going to the time line of the running podcast and scroll it to 1 minute and then it works fine.
Thanks for reaching out to us about this - we'll be glad to help you out here.
Most common issues can be fixed with a quick reinstall of the app. In some situations however, a clean (more thorough) reinstall of the app might be needed. This way you can start afresh with Spotify on your mobile.

I am suffering from the same problem. So far I tried the following: + restarting the device (LG K11)
+ clearing the app data
+ re-installing the app.
None of the above helped and the issue is still happening. It seems that there is a file lenght that causes the app to crash. Podcast episodes that are under 1 hour long seem to work fine, but I did not test for what the break-off point is.
Anytime I try to play 1h+ episode of a podcast the app crashes and offers either a chance to restart/close or sent my opinion. This happens both in on-line and offline mode, both for episodes that have been downloaded and ones that haven't been.

Its stopped working all of a sudden. It worked this morning, but around lunch it just stopped. Saw that there was a new update in play store. Installed it but no difference.
