My Question or Issue

Since last week I have a very frustrating problem with Spotify. When I download a full album from an artist and I want to play that album with Android Auto, the songs are in alphabetical order. I want to have the tracklist in the official order.

I updatet the Spotify app and Android Auto app, but the problem is still there. I know I can go to the album by clicking "last played", but that's not the way it used to be. I want that the tracklist is correct when I start the album. Other people also have this problem? What can I do? Very frustrating because I have a premium account, but it doesn't feel premium 😞

Hey folks,

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

We’re happy to say that this should now be fixed for everyone!

If you’re still experiencing this issue, can you make a new thread in the relevant board? We'll get back to you there.

Thanks!

My Question or Issue

For almost a year now, the Albums I saved to my library wouldn't be displayed in Android Auto navigation

Library->Albums.

This issue was also reported here: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Ongoing-Issues/Android-Auto-Browse-gt-No-Items-displayed/idi-p/4696...

This issue seems to be fixed since latest update (finally, after ONE year!)

Now I'm able to browse my albums again: So when I browse trough my Albums

Library->Albums

and then tap on one, the Tracks will be played, but not in the order of the Album but in random or alphabetical order (see screenshot)

The funny thing is: When I browse through

Recently played -> Tap on the Album

the tracks will be played in the correct order (see other screenshot).

I think this is the same issue as https://community.spotify.com/t5/Ongoing-Issues/Can-t-Listen-to-Tracks-in-Order-on-Android-Auto/idi-...

and is still unfixed. But since the mentioned thread has been closed, I decided to create a new one.

The Screenshots may be displayed in the wrong order. So please take a look at the clock on the Screenshot. The one of 16:13 shows the correct order.

Same issue btw when playing playlist or the old "Songs" list

Same issue here. Hope Spotify are working on this, even my 30 year old turntable can play an album in the correct order!

SeppeD

Same issue here.

When selecting an artist there's a similar issue all tracks are listed alphabetically.

I'd expect the order to be the same in android auto as when running the app on android.

Same issue, it appears Spotify have managed to break this basic feature. Do they even test these releases?

Status changed to: Need more info

Hey folks,

We've received reports that songs in a downloaded album are now sorted alphabetically on Android Auto.

First, we'd recommend trying a clean reinstall of both apps on your device by following the steps here.

If after that you’re still experiencing the issue, could you provide us with the following info:

  • device + OS version
  • exact Spotify version
  • any other relevant info?

Once we have that, we will pass it on to the relevant team, who will look further into it.

Also, make sure that you've clicked + VOTE to show that you're experiencing the issue as described.

Thanks!
