Android Auto - Spotify doesn't play offline

Android Auto suddenly is unable to play music in offline mode. Started after last Spotify update. The only way to display tracks that have been downloaded is to use cellular data (which it wouldn't supposed to be needed). Reinstalled both android auto and Spotify and also cleared cache. Nothing worked. Can anyone help?

I thought I was clever : start a downloaded playlist when online, then switch to offline.

Works, but impossible to change tracks in the playlist....so limited I want to cancel my account.

Any clue on what to do?

Wait for a Spotify or AA update is all we can do right?

Same problem here, live in a rural area, this sucks. Probably only have cell service 25% of the time.
