Description:

"After a while, this can be after a couple of hours or so but it will always happen, the same song will be repeated over and over again. When I press the Next button I also get the same song again.

When I dislike the song, then the radio will continue.

I've noticed this only in the regular radio, not the artist radio."

Information Needed:

What platform were you using Spotify on? (e.g. Desktop, Android phone, iPhone)

What seed did you start the station from? (e.g. Artist, Album, Song)

2013-01-15: I am told this is now fixed. Status changed to "Resolved."

2014-01-14: Reopened this, as it seems to have come back. Please have a read and see if you can provide more information.

This happens to me when I add multiple songs to a queue. It repeats the last song I queued. I am on Win 8 // newest spotify

I've noticed that the Radio function inherites the "repeat one" function from normal play mode.

When being in normal mode (eg. not Radio mode) and I changed repeat to either all or none, the Radio mode doesn't repeat one song over and over again.

I can't possibly list the songs this happens with. seems to get stuck in a loop with several songs, Randomly. thumbs down does nothing as these songs are often repeated more frequently after being thumbed down. the radio feature is broken and is making me consider canceling. Please allow the ability to outright ban an artist or song from a playlist radio station.

I too am considering canceling my subscription and getting back on Pandora. I found that the music wasn't current, but at least the radio didn't repeat songs.
Also when I try to list to play lists that I've created on shuffle, I find that not all the songs get played. It's always the same group of songs.
Very frustrating.

yeah, same here..cancelling my subscription. the thumbs up or down button doesn't work either, no matter if I thumb down it'll repeat the song

Used to recommend Spotify to people based on the strength of the radio function alone, thinking it was more diverse and intuitive than Pandora.  After paying for Pandora for a year and now Spotify for almost as long, it really feels like the radio function just flat out sucks now.  The longer you let the radio go on a station, the fewer songs it seems to incorporate until it's just cycling through the same 5 or 6.  Nothing new comes on anymore.  Also, bizarrely, I'll get some really out-of-left-field music when I'm on a totally unrelated station (norwegian EDM on Wilco radio, etc).

I'd really like to think someone at Spotify is working on this right now.  It's too good of an app to have such a glaring weakness go unnoticed. That being said, it's getting harder and harder to justify paying for it when this function that I use constantly is just flat out sucks.

(side note: I'm a bartender and use the radio so much because I let it play at night throughout the bar while I'm working.  Wondering if anyone else does the same thing?  Know a good workaround?  It's frustrating and embarrasing to have a bunch of people yelling to you "THIS SONG JUST PLAYED OMG WUT ARE YOU DOING GET A NEW PLAYLISTTTT")

Same problem, Radio is really broken for a long time now, it's not reliable. Some Radios works better than other but is there someone from the spotify manager team who can clarify the situation ?

The radio feature is practically unusable for me now, I am going to cancel my subscription and just migrate between the various free radio streaming services, including Spotify.   As an example of the issue I am seeing, I will create a new radio station and each time I launch that station Spotify plays the exact same set of songs.  I would expect the radio station to have a random quality to it.  So I end up deleting that station and making a new one, which is not something I should have to do.  I don't have to do this in Pandora, for instance.  I don't see a reason to pay $10/mo for a VERY buggy application.

The issue is about playing the SAME SONG.

Not "set of songs".

Not "not enough different" songs.

Anyone that has a different issue than that START YOUR OWN THREAD.
