[Android]Local files synching information

Status: Not An Issue
0 Likes

People have enough difficulty with synching local files to android which isn't helped by the absence of informative status/error messages.

So I was staggered today when I tried to sync a couple of new local file playlists but didn't have the desktop client open.

Previously, the status "waiting to download" would appear, indicating that the app was waiting to establish communication with the desktop client. Today, when I tapped the "download" switch it immediately showed "downloaded"! Of course, all files were still greyed-out so I toggled off "download", started up the desktop client then toggled "download" on - the files synced normally.

Any chance of bringing back the "waiting to download" status message, if not something more helpful?

Running spotify version 8.4.5.1092 on Galaxy S8+, android 7.0.

Please don't tell me this belongs in "ideas". Requesting the return of a feature which has disappeared, whether deliberately or by mistake is a bug, not a feature request and showing a playlist as "downloaded" when it isn't is most definitely a bug.

Thanks.
