It's been MONTHS. You just mark the issue as fixed in other help threads even though it has not been fixed. Are you EVER going to fix this??

This issue is happening with my Galaxy note 9 as well when listening to podcasts. The podcast skips like it's buffering, the progress bar never changes, the content playing guide doesn't show what's currently playing, and then freezes and closes itself. Or randomly the music will start playing without being promoted or won't stop playing after the app has been closed. It's pretty much rendered the app unusable for me.

I've been having this issue for approximately a week or two with my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. I have premium with a non- family plan.

The audio pausing randomly has stopped but all of the other issues described have been happening to me.

I will say, the easiest "bandaid" fix that I've found is to close the app and force stop before reopening, which works for a while.

I am experiencing the same issue with Samsung Galaxy Note 5G. The "Now Playing" bar gets stuck on a song, even happens when I am connected to my car via Bluetooth. Different songs will play, but the album artwork and title are stuck.

Issue is happening to me too.  Galaxy note 9.

Play bar is stuck on a previous song, same incorrect song detail is shown on my cars screen.  Auto pause when turning the car off doesn't work, the music just plays out of my phone speaker.  To pause I need to go into the spotify app (because you've removed the widget, grr), click 'whats playing' press play then pause

I also noticed when streaming spotify in the car and using Google Maps, the music is no longer quietened down when the directions are given.

I uninstalled spotify, installed v8.5.94.839, disabled auto updates in google play and Spotify is working as normal.

Google spotify 8.5.94.839 apk for the previous version.

Using a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+.

Australia build 8.6.34.749

Just toggled the adaptive battery setting to off & the playing bar started refreshing again. Set it back to on and it's still working for now.

Hey folks,

Thanks for posting here 🙂

Could you check if the issue persists while using the latest app version?

Keep us posted.

I have the same problem but it's with Google Pixel 5 (Android 11.0).

I'm using Spotify Premium version 8.6.36.1070

Hey @kbr88,

Thanks for that info.

Could you try running a clean reinstall of the app by following these steps? Also, try restarting the app a couple of times.

Let us know how it goes.

i've done that a couple of times and i still have the problem. i have also
removed the shortcut from the homescreen and only clicked on the original
icon--it starts ok, but after playing a few podcasts i end up having the
same problem.
