My Question or Issue

Ok so my app shows a series of glitches, I have tried to reinstall the app, delete data, delete cache, and after a while it still happens. The issues are as following:

  1. App shows wrong song playing
  2. Progress bar doesn't move or the time elapsed/remaining.
  3. When you leave the app UI and change to another app, after a while the audio stops playing and it resumes when opening it again, but still not showing the correct info.
  4. No widget on the notification bar, but audio still playing.
  5. Audio still playing even when closing the app from the square button on Android. It has to be force closed.

As I said, I have tried from deleting cache and data from the app, from Android app manager. I have tried uninstalling and re installing and still the same.

Please help me, I have been a subscriber for many years and I don't wanna change my streaming platform but it is too stressful as I use the app a lot of time daily.

Hey folks,

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

Since the original issue has since been resolved, we're closing this as fixed. Make sure you're running the latest app version and everything should work fine now.

If you're experiencing a different issue you can start a new topic in the relevant help board since the root cause of this has been fixed and we are now looking at different issues.

Thanks!

Exact same issue as op.

Samsung Galaxy S10.

Spotify version 8.5.89.901

I have multiple devices in my home connected to my Spotify premium account, not sure if it's confusing the Spotify account.

Phone, Windows laptop, Android Auto, smart tv and soundbar, multiple Google home devices, smart watch, etc.

The issues only seem to happen on my phone, and only when another device is playing.

So, for example, if my Google home is playing, my phone won't show it and I can't control it from my phone and my phone's "now playing" will be "stuck" the way the op described.

Same exact issue here on Samsung A71 app build number 8.5.89.901

I've also been having the same issue for about a week

Phone: Samsung S10

Spotify version: 8.5.89.901

I didn't even realize it started when I connected by Samsung Galaxy Active watch but now that I see other people saying that, it makes sense. Still sucks though.

Same Issue: Samsung Galaxy S8

Build: 8.5.89.901

I am also experiencing all of the above issues on version 8.5.89.901 on Samsung Galaxy Note10+. The issues seems to have only occured since linking my Samsung Watch Active2.

I also have a Watch Active2 linked to Spotify.

I also have a Galaxy Watch.

When I uninstall the Spotify App on my Watch the Now Playing view is no longer stuck. It seems to be related to the Smartwatch.

With the stock Music App on the watch I have to manually lauch Spotify on my mobile to see the current track on my watch.

Mine is the exact same, its very irritating. I've uninstalled and re installed and its still the same. I'm using the most up to date version of Spotify and my phone (galaxy s9) is completely up to date also.

I also have to force close the app to stop playing the music...

Please sort it!
