[Android] Scroll bar in liked songs doesn't update

Issue

On my list of liked songs when I move the scroll bar down the screen the songs list does not update and hangs unless I move the scroll bar very slowly down the screen only then do the songs down the list come up. Also if pull the scroll bar all the way to the bottom it will go back 9 months and not go any further to songs liked earlier until the list of songs liked 9 months ago comes up. Also if I try to move the screen up or down it will reset to the last position where the songs loaded on the screen come up. App is version 8.5.60 decimal 1013.

Does this only happen when you move the scroll bar or when you swipe down the playlist without holding the bar?

You can start off by trying a clean reinstall of the app to make sure you have the latest version and that any outdated files are removed.

Give your device a quick restart as well before you open the newly installed app.

If a family member or a friend has a Spotify account, it could also be a good idea to ask them to log in on your device to see if the app behaves the same way.

Hi,

this only happens when using the scroll bar and doesn't happen when swiping down the playlist without holding the scroll bar.

I've attempted a reinstall of the app as well as restarting my phone but it hasn't worked.

I also have the same problem on a family member's phone, a Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus running the same app version.

My Question or Issue

Ever since the scroll bar on the right side in Liked Songs changed from the thin, gray vertical line to the one with up/down arrows that shows the date, I can't even get close to the bottom of the list before the app crashes.

I do have 6000+ liked songs but it's just a list, before the update I was able to jump straight to the bottom instantly. I've tried closing other apps and restarting the phone but every time I scroll "too far" down my library of music the app takes longer and longer to load each chunk of the list and crashes.

I thought the new scroll bar was neat at first but I don't think it's acceptable to have to cull my library just so the app works like it used to until very recently

Have you tried a clean reinstall of the app on your device? If not, make sure to follow the relevant steps for your device listed in this Spotify Answer.

I did a restart/clean install according to the guide you linked, but the problem persisted so I took a screen recording.

Same problem here, whether I go by name or revently added. Wasn't this bad before but now it takes really long to load and often crashes. I have 2700 song saved.

Same problem here! 4000 songs. Will take for EVER with the new scrolling to get to my old songs as you can only do a few months worth at a time and you have to wait for it to load, please revert to the old system!

Just updated to Spotify ver. 8.5.63.941

The scrolling seems faster/smoother, and it hasn't crashed yet since updating
